Nearly 1,000 civic and community-minded individuals recognized and celebrated leadership at the 2017 Visionary Awards, Southern California’s premier leadership recognition event, on Thursday, June 8 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina.
“The theme of this year’s event, ‘Leadership – it’s all about the people,’ was woven throughout the program,” said Paul Komadina, LEAD board member and 2017 Visionary Awards Chair. “In addition to recognizing some extraordinary people, the event gave us the opportunity to wrap up celebration of LEAD San Diego’s 35th anniversary year.”
Eric Occhipinti, a lifelong resident of Rancho Peñasquitos, proclaimed, “I enjoy living here because, as they say, ‘Home is where the heart is,’ and my heart beats for PQ.” Describing himself as a “very happy, outgoing, positive, down-to-earth person,” Eric is the owner of an organic cold press juice, snack, and puree company. Hoping to spread the health benefits of his business, Eric founded the nonprofit organization March for Mothers Inc. for those in need of better nutritional health.....
